in lieu of Christmas cards (our family photos)

Ok soooooo...I'm not doing Christmas cards this year. I just had to let something go and that was it.

Therfore, in lieu of the beautiful cards that have already begun to fill our mailboxes, I thought I'd at least show you our FANTASTIC photos by my sweet friend Katie  (Katie Derus Photography) that would have been in said Christmas cards.

Sitting down together on the grass was our first attempt. Elsabet wasn't really having it.

Apparently she thought walking around was way more fun. Well, walking and attacking/hugging Imani.

Once finished on the grass, we walked over to a field nearby.

The lighting was a-maaazing.

Though some children who will remain nameless (Imani),  didn't like the tall grass scratching their legs.

And there may or may not have been chatter about a snake.

So on we walked to a bridge just a little further down the path.

Rapidly growing weary of smiling for photos, little Elsabet of course wanted to walk all by herself & do her own thing.

We played a favorite game of "telephone" and got a bunch of giggles from the Bigs and Littles.

Aaaaand then Elsabet walked around a little more.

Honestly, I'm shocked Katie got so many good photos out of the goofing off and whining and constant craziness that surrounds this many kids together. I swear she's a miracle worker. Or a saint. Or an angel.

I just love how they all turned out!

But most of all, I love the visual reminder of what God has done with our family.

Oh how I love them!
