Scary Close – march’s (virtual) book club selection!

A few months ago, I posted this photo on Instagram with the following comment...

I was given an advance copy of Scary Close by Donald Miller (remember Blue Like Jazz??) a month or so ago. I kept putting off reading it because I don't feel like I have problems with relationships & finding true intimacy...but it is SO much more than that!

The chapter I'm reading now chats about a fear of being judged & the risk of being careful...he's reminding us that "if we go to our graves with our feelings still in us, we will die with regrets."

And Ohmygosh THIS! "The problem is this: those of us who are never satisfied with our accomplishments secretly believe nobody will love us unless we're perfect."

Seriously friends...even if you don't think this book applies to you, it DOES!

You will get so much out of it, I sure have!!

Well, not only is the book finally out, but it even reached #5 as a New York Times bestseller!

I'm not surprised, I mean I've got the entire book highlighted. It's so good.

Anyway, this great book is going to be our (Virtual) Book Club Book for March. I realize I'm a little behind on getting the title out to you...but don't worry...it's relatively short. And it's a great page-turner, so I have no doubt you'll still be able to finish it.

And if you don't...don't worry! Still swing by on Chat Day and discuss what you have read! Remember, this is supposed to be fun, not something that stresses you out and feels like another thing on your to-do list.

So release yourself of that silly stress and just read what you can. But believe me, the more you do read, the more you'll walk away having learned and grown.
