real (faux looking) lashes
From time to time I have friends ask about my makeup routine...so I thought today I'd share with you my favorite lash trick!
Have a little grace...my before photo is straight after waking up and taking a shower. But in the attempt of being real, there it is. Thank you Jesus for mascara and lipstick.
And blush.
When it comes to regular mascara, I'm super old-school and love Maybelline's Great Lash but about a year ago I found a product that changed my life. Ok...well, my the life of my lashes anyway.
Have you heard of fiber mascara? I've tried a few but Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes is my absolute favorite.
Here are my eyes with regular mascara (left) vs the fiber magic of Yonique (right).
The photo looks a tad clumpy, I can't find my lash brush. But you get the idea.
It is SO easy to use! I still use my regular mascara as a first coat. Then simply swipe on the black hued gel, like you do any other mascara. While that's still wet, grab the fiber tube and swipe that on as well. It took me awhile to do it well and not get fibers into my contacts. But I think I was just using too much.
After the fiber layer is on, one more coat with the gel and you're done!
It sounds much more complicated and time consuming than it is. The whole thing probably takes me 60 seconds. Oh!
Little tip...do one eye at a time. And do your best to not get the gel on your eyelids, it's a bit hard to get off without makeup remover.
My other favorite is by Too Faced. The only downside with this brand is that the fibers are white and a touch more difficult to layer enough to look natural (and cover up that white). But they're both good and I recommend each of them!
