(gasp!) We're Starting a Remodel

Ben + I are no strangers to remodels. In fact, we lived in eight houses during the first ten years of our marriage…and we flipped, built, and remodeled others as rentals. In fact, when we were bringing kids #5 + #6 home from Ethiopia, we were in the middle of turning a home that had been deemed “uninhabitable” by the bank to be a safe and beautiful home for our family.

Yikes…now THAT was an exhausting season.

lol. Five out of the six kids home and Ben + I were supposed to homeschool AND run our businesses?! It was complete madness. But at least you can see how cute the exterior looks now.

We’ve lived in our current home for six years and have basically just put lipstick on the pig. We’ve painted, redone some of the floors, put in some new light fixtures. You know, easy-ish stuff. See some of that, HERE.

We’ve been patiently (ok ok, me NOT so patiently) awaiting the time when we could start ripping things out and truly getting our hands dirty, turning it more our style (LIGHT + BRIGHT)!

Now is FINALLY the time! (cue the crowd screaming or me making fake-crowd noises with my mouth) We’ll be sharing a TON in the upcoming weeks and months (especially on my Instagram) but for now…below is some of my inspo.
